Electric Vehicle Data Analysis with Machine Learning & Business Intelligence.

Retrieved on January 20th, 2018.

Machine learning is making its way to the electric vehicle sphere in a number of areas. The example is drawn from the City of Jose and the concept is simple.

Microsoft Azure and Prospect Silicon Valley (ProspectsSV) collaborated to examine how the cloud-based platform can be useful to retrieve, restore, visualize and predict trends based on data from multiple sources. One of the objectives of this project is vehicle accident analysis by analyzing vehicle accident data provided by San Jose’s police department and correlate it with recorded weather conditions. Secondly, the project determines the utilization of vehicle charging stations managed by ProspectsSV throughout the State of California using Microsoft’s Power BI business analysis tools to identify which stations are over used or under used to inform policy processes around building new charging stations. Finally, the project assists motorists in locating electric vehicle stations to identify those currently in use and helps predict whether stations will be in use at a specified arrival time.
